Happy Halloween! As y'all can see, "We're off to see the wizard, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz" 😊 My inspiration with these costumes started with this picture on Pinterest. I thought this was the cutest mother and daughter costume idea! I wanted to coordinate with Madeline in some way, and the subtle pink skirt makes for the perfect "modern day Glenda." (However, a wand would have added the perfect touch. I figured a simple fairy wand wouldn't be difficult to find, but after visiting three local Halloween stores and two party supply stores, I was proven wrong on that. I should have just ordered one, but by the time I figured out that I couldn't find one locally, it was too late to order one. So, note to self or anyone else looking: If you're needing a simple fairy wand, order one!).

I just die every time I look at Madeline in her little costume. I knew we couldn't do anything too frilly, because she is currently at that stage where she doesn't want to wear anything that doesn't seem "normal" to her (a tutu, for example). This Dorothy costume was perfect, and I just can't get over her darling little ruby red moccasins ❤️ Also, we were last minutes finding the perfect hair bow, and as always, Alex from The Splendid Bow shop (our favorite bows ever!!) was so sweet with helping us get one.

When I found our costume ideas, I immediately started thinking of how Jaycee could be incorporated into our theme. My first thoughts were that she would make the perfect Toto. But I thought of two things: 1) Sticking her in a basket isn't really a Halloween costume and 2) Putting her in a basket and trusting Madeline to carry her in a basket didn't seem like the best idea haha. I have actually loved this little lion costume for years and years. I've had it bookmarked on my computer for forever. So, it immediately came to mind when I planned our costumes, and I don't think it could be any more perfect. She is the cutest little lion I've ever seen 🦁

We spent this past weekend in one of our favorite places to be (especially for this time of year), Highlands, North Carolina! It was absolutely magical as the leaves were at their peak. We stayed at our favorite place, The Park Hotel on Main as it is the cutest hotel that is so dog friendly! The owners are so sweet and have the cutest dog (Mr. Pickles) who the hotel is based off of. Jaycee is always welcomed, and I just love that. Not to mention, Madeline loved it as well since she loves pups. Each Halloween weekend, they host a "furry friends Halloween costume contest." We took these pictures then headed to the costume contest. Jaycee (with a little help from Dorothy and Glenda) was one of the pups that won! She won a big doggie bowl full of treats and toys. Madeline had more fun at the party than Jaycee did. She loves dogs so much, so she was so excited to meet 20+ dogs in their clever costumes. It was the cutest thing to watch.

We hated to leave our fun weekend in Highlands, but as always, "There's no place like home." 😊

I'm so excited to take Madeline trick-or-treating tonight! I hope y'all have a Happy Halloween. Are you dressing up? If so, what are you being?

Happy Friday, everyone! I'm so excited we are to the weekend. Today I'm blogging from one of my favorite places ever, Highlands, NC. It is absolutely gorgeous here, and the leaves are so vibrant! The mountains are my favorite place to be this time of year.

How adorable is this bell sleeved cardigan?! Y'all wouldn't believe how soft and cozy it is. It comes in two colors and is under $100. I love pairing burgundy with grey. I have gotten so much wear out of this tee as well as these burgundy booties. Burgundy, olive green, burnt orange, and ivory have become my go-to colors to wear this fall. There are so many adorable scarves that pair so perfectly with these colors as well. This one I'm wearing here appears to be sold out, but this one and this one are both very similar.

What do you consider to be your go-to color this fall?

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Burnt Orange Sweater (Under $60 and also comes in olive green) // Denim (my absolute favorite and currently 25% off!!!) // Leopard Flats (Under $70...also available here) // ZAC Zac Posen Eartha Satchel // Coin Necklace // Yurman Link Bracelet

Happy Wednesday, Friends! A few of my current favorite colors to wear right now are olive green, mustard yellow, plum, and burnt orange! I don't think that I have ever been so in love with a sweater. I adore the bell sleeves and especially the burnt orange shade of this one I am wearing. And I think burnt orange paired with leopard may just be a new favorite of mine. This sweater is only $59 and also comes in a gorgeous shade of green. I have also been thoroughly enjoying these lace-up leopard flats. They are very comfortable and only $69. The denim I'm wearing is last thing that I want to highlight. They are hands down my favorite pair as they have a 27 inch inseam, and they always keep their shape (no stretching of the knees). They are currently 25% off, as well.

I hope y'all are having great week so far! I can't believe it is already Wednesday. We are heading to the mountains tomorrow, and I can hardly wait! I'm so excited to see some gorgeous foliage and explore my favorite little mountain town with Madeline. The weather is looking to be perfect as well. Since we are heading up tomorrow, I have been desperately trying to work on school assignments and turn them in before we leave so that I can enjoy our vacation (yesterday I worked pretty much non-stop). With the way it is looking now, I should have all but one assignment completed. With that being said, my alone time over these past few days has been spent working on nothing but school. Sometimes I just sit back and wonder how will I ever get all of these to-dos done. I strive to always put Madeline and being her mama first. School can be such a heavy load. And my blog is also very time consuming but something that I thoroughly enjoy and absolutely love. All I can say is that the Lord always gives me the strength I need to carry on. He is my strength, and I am constantly reminded to give every ounce of my life to him (even my schedule 😊). It is amazing to see Him working in your life, even in the busiest of times. I will share more in another post very soon.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope y'all have a great Wednesday.

Happy Monday! Navy paired with mustard yellow will always be a favorite color combination of mine. When I saw this skirt, not only did I know that I had to have it, but I also knew that I loved the idea of pairing it with navy. It is finally feeling like turtleneck weather, so I decided that yesterday was the perfect day to break out this outfit for church. I love the nautical buttons on this skirt. FYI, it does run a little small, so be sure to size up one size!  The turtleneck and skirt are both 25% off (if you spend $125+) to 30% off (if you spend $200+) with the code SHOPMORE. There are so many things currently on my wish-list from J.Crew. See more of what I'm loving in the widget below.

Who else is excited to start a new week? I know I am. Although I always hate to see the weekend go, I do look forward to starting fresh with a new week. I always strive to tackle a lot of to-dos, such as cleaning, on Sundays. There's nothing better than feeling like Monday is off to a fresh start. We are also going to the mountains later on this week, and I'm so excited to see some fall leaves (which we don't see too much of around here).

I hope y'all have a great Monday! Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Friday, Friends! If I had to name my must-have fall piece of clothing that has been a continuous favorite for years and years, I'd have to say it is the J.Crew Excursion Vest. It is a staple! Along with being my favorite, it is probably the most versatile item in my fall wardrobe. I love layering it over sweaters, tees, adding a scarf to the mix, and it even looks great over some dresses or with a turtleneck tucked into a corduroy skirt. SO many options. The basic colors (ivory, black, and navy) will last for years and years. And there's always a fun new color each year (like this heather tigerlily color I'm wearing here). Right now on J.Crew, you can save 25% off purchases of $125+ and 30% off of purchases of $200+. I also have to mention that this striped tee has been restocked in all sizes!!! It is the BEST! I have worn it so many times that I may grab up another one while it is in stock. If you've been wanting one, hurry and get it because it will definitely sell out again very quickly. And it's only $19 🎉

I hope y'all have a great Friday! We're taking a day trip to Columbia, SC today. I'd so excited to be meeting up with one of my long-time blogging friend 😊

Booties (Love this pair too) // Hair Bow

Hello friends and happy Wednesday! Madeline and I are here with another coordinating outfit for fall.  Goodness these tiny little pieces (like the faux fur vest she is wearing) just get me every time! Ever since she saw me pull out my riding boots for the first time this fall, all she wants to wear are her boots. She'll choose boots over any other shoe, especially her baby Hunter Boots (She'd sleep in them if I let her haha). When she sees me put mine on, she'll run to her shoe shelf and grab her boots as well. I am always so amazed to see how quickly she picks up on things and how much she understands. She is at such an active age, and even though she keeps me on my feet, it is so much fun to watch her and her little personality shine through. She keeps me smiling and feeling so grateful to be her mama. 😊 This time of year is especially so fun with a toddler. We went to a local farm last weekend for some pumpkin patch exploring, corn maize fun, and more. She had an absolute blast, especially meeting all of the animals there. Her love for animals melts my heart each time and especially when she lets out a long, drawn out "awwww." I have some iPhone snaps from our time at the farm, and I will be sharing those soon!

I also want to mention that this cowl neck sweater is amazing! I have it in two colors, and it is probably my favorite sweater that I've purchased for the fall. It is under $50! Also, these lace-up leopard flats are a great price, so I thought I'd give them a try. I'm so happy that I did, because they are so comfortable and the quality is amazing!! Not to mention, they're so gorgeous! I highly recommend them if you're looking for a way to add a pop of leopard to your looks ❤️

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great Wednesday.
