BOO

Baby Ghost // Puppy Ghost (shirt / tutu)

Happy Halloween from me and my little ghosts :) When I was first trying to decide on a costume for Madeline, I would have never thought she would end up being a ghost.  But this costume with the layers of tulle and all won me over!  Of course, Jaycee had to match.  These are the cutest little ghosts ever!  We are too excited to trick-or-treat tonight.

 I hope y'all have a spooktacular day!

Halloween Favorites

Happy Halloween Eve!  Aren't y'all excited?!  I know I am.  The reason I'm the most excited is because it is Madeline's first Halloween.  Picking out a costume has always been my favorite part.  This year, with the help of these adorable "Spooktacular" Jack Rogers Sandals and this sweater, I'll be looking the part without actually wearing a costume.  Stay tuned tomorrow to see Madeline and Jaycee all dressed up!  I can't wait to share what they are being.  A few of my other favorite things that go along with the season are pumpkins (of course), candy corn (you either love it or hate it), It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (a tradition).

What are some of your favorite things about Halloween?

This season, booties have been a must have! I have have gotten so much wear out of the last two pairs above.  The (scalloped!!) pair has the perfect heel that's not too high.  The perforated pair is so comfortable and a more casual alternative that is so cute when paired with denim cuffed up. I also have decided that a green pair similar to the pair above is a must have!  I have a pair that isn't as cute as these, but I have enjoyed them so much simply because of the color.  How darling is the fringe pair above?! And don't get me started on the pair with the leopard heel.  I love leopard, and that particular pair would add the perfect pop of leopard to any outfit!

What style shoe are you loving this season?

We Love Fall

Top // Vest // Denim // Booties // Bag (sold out) // Necklace // Madeline's Outfit: Romper, Headband, Shoes

Fall is easily my favorite time to the year!  Of how I love the colors and all of the festivity that comes along with October and November.  I can't believe how fast my baby girl is growing!  She already has her sassy pose down pat with the crossing of the legs and all :)  She just melts me heart!

Along with loving the fall weather, I love dressing for this time of year too. Vests are my go-to and are what inspire many of the outfits I wear this time of year. I'd say my go-to fall pieces are vests, riding boots, and button downs.  Also, if you're looking for some classic Tory Burch pieces on sale a wide selection has been marked down including riding boots and Reva ballet flats!  See my favorites below.

Lord, I Need You...

Happy Tuesday, Friends!  This week, I want to share part of a song that is near and dear to my heart.  It is called Lord, I Need You by Ron Hamilton.  I love this song, because it is so applicable to life.  It's a reminder that no matter what life brings about, "when the sea of life is calm" or "the wind is blowing strong," we always need the Lord.  But what I love even more is not only the picture it sets of how we turn to the Lord, but the example is gives of how the Lord longs to hear us cry out to Him. He wants our all.  "My anxious voice cried upward with words You long to hear…Lord I need You!" I keep the words tucked away in my Bible, on my desk, and memorized because it's also a reminder for me to find strength in the Lord.  I sing this song to Madeline because I want her to learn from a very early age that no matter what life brings about, always cling to the Lord.

Sometimes when life seems gentle and blessings flood my way,
I turn my gaze away from You and soon forget to pray.
But when the sky grows darker and courage turns to fear,
My anxious voice cries upward with words you long to hear.

Lord, help me to remember I'm weak but You are strong.
I cannot sing apart from You, for Lord You are my song.
Although I'm prone to wander and boast in all I do;
Lord keep my eyes turned upward so I depend on You.

Lord, I need You when the sea of life is calm.
O Lord, I need You when the wind is blowing strong.
Whether trials come or cease, keep me always on my knees.
Lord, I need You. Lord I need You.

Bell Sleeve Dress

Happy Monday, Friends! Here is one of my favorite fall dresses. I simply can't get enough of the bell sleeves. This dress is such a fun, flirty style that comes in several colors. It also looks so cute paired with riding boots. AND it has pockets…who does't love a dress with pockets :)

I hope y'all have a great start to a new week.  The past two have been a whirlwind for me!  I'm hoping this one settles down a bit, and I am so looking forward to a little mid-week getaway.

Red Vest + Stripes

Vest // Top // Denim // Necklace // Booties // Bag // Bracelets (1 ($16!!) // 2)

Happy Wednesday, Friends!  A striped top (preferably navy) is a staple that I have in my closet no matter what season it is!  I especially love it for fall and winter, because I enjoy layering and pairing it with vests.  This one from J.Crew has suede details on the shoulders, making it absolute perfection, in my opinion.  I have gotten so much use out of this top.  It also looks so cute tucked into this skirt.  Pictured below are a few striped tops that are perfect for layering, and I can assure that you will get SO much wear out of any of these.  Side note, just about all of these tops (along with the vest and denim I'm wearing) are 25% off with the code SALETREAT.

Where Is Your Strength?

Happy Tuesday, Friends!  Today I want to share with y'all a verse from the story in 1 Samuel 30.  I have heard this story told from three different people over the past week (none of them knew the other had told it).  Don't you just love when something like that happens!  I feel like the Lord truly wants me to take away something from that story, and it really has touched my heart.

I also love how we can relate to the people in the Bible.  I don't know about y'all, but when I read about Abraham and Sarah, David, John, etc. my first reaction is that they are up on a higher level than all of us.  But no, just like you and me, they are not perfect.  They make mistakes.  But most importantly, just like you and me, God sees them through and through.  The Scriptures are there to encourage our hearts, and I find that so many times by relating to the lessons of people in the Bible (Romans 15:4).

Back to the reason I'm writing this today…in this story in 1 Samuel 30, David is going through a lot of hardships as his men have pretty much turned against him.  David is "greatly distressed!"  This feeling sounds all too familiar in our lives, right?  But what did David do?  He "Found strength in the Lord his God."  Wow, what an example that sets for us.  So many times when I'm stressed, I'll get on social media, online shop, or do something else to get my mind off the situation.  David shows me that I must turn my direction to the Lord to find my strength.  A few ways I've learned to do this is one, pray pray pray!  Tell God all about your worries, fears, stress…He hears and He knows!  And two, I read my Bible and recite verses I've taken to heart that really do ease the fears and doubts of the situation.

Where do you find your strength?  Will you be like David and find your strength in the Lord?

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Pumpkins, Mums & More

Happy Saturday, Friends!  My goal for my end of the week post is to share the things that inspired me throughout the week / things I'm loving the most right now (it may be a list of things or just one thing).   This week has been more crazy than usual, so I've decided to share my favorite thing we did this week.

On Monday, I had a mission to find the perfect fall decorations.  Pumpkins and mums were the main things on the list, but we ended up buying a few giant squash.  All of the pretty fall colors are what had me so excited.  The baby pumpkins will always be my favorite.  I had been looking on pinterest for some ideas on decorating the front porch.  My favorite part of hunting for the perfect pumpkins was Madeline's reaction to them!  She loved the bright orange and wanted to "hold" every one she would attempt to get her hands on.  It is so much fun getting to watch her take in the world around her and learn new things.  I think back to this time last year.  All I could think about was the fun times I had ahead with my Madeline, and goodness they have been more fun than I ever could have imagined. Looking forward to carving these pumpkins in a week or so :)

The weather is suppose to finally cool down this week.  I absolutely love fall and
I'd love to hear of some of y'all's favorite fall activities.

What are some of y'all's favorite fall activities?  Do share!

Delightfully Yours,
