One Top, Two Ways

Top: Anthropologie // Denim: Loft // Shorts: Anthropologie // Necklace: J.Crew Factory (similar) // Watch: Kate Spade // Bracelet: Bauble Bar // Navy Bag: Nordstrom // Yellow Bag: Tory Burch // Gold Sandals: Topshop // Yellow Sandals: Jack Rogers (Limited Edition Pair…similar pair here)

I love finding basic tops that I can pair with multiple pairs of shorts/pants and a variety of skirts. But it isn't too often that you find a (lemon) printed top that can be worn several different ways and pairs so nicely with different bottoms. I love lemons…in my water and printed on my clothes :) I think they make such a happy print! This top is even cuter with the fun blue and white layer underneath. I love it paired with white denim, white shorts, denim, these dark grey shorts, etc. You can leave the bottom layer untucked as I have it in the first outfit, or tucked in like the way I'm wearing it with the second outfit. The options are endless! I love finding a piece like this one that you can get so creative with.

Do you have a favorite piece of clothing that you like to style several different ways?

Pray Without Ceasing

Happy Tuesday! :) I recently downloaded a new app I'm so excited about. It's called First 5 by the Proverbs 31 Ministries. On another note, I highly recommend this app, because it encourages you to spend the first 5 minutes of your day with God. The app even has an alarm on it, so that you may wake up to the app and the reading for the day. A quote I recently read through this app: "We must first exchange whispers with God before shouts with the world." To me, this speaks so much about the power of prayer. Take everything to the Lord in prayer! Here are a few of my thoughts on prayer time and what it means to me.

Being a mama, I have found it difficult to start my day off with "quiet time" since my mornings/days can be so unpredictable. But I have held on to my prayer time with God. We are to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17). I believe it is so important (as the quote states) to exchange whispers with God before shouts with the world...before making any decisions...take everything to the Lord in prayer. I cannot describe the ultimate peace I feel when I talk to God, spend time with Him, and tell Him that I will ultimately trust in Him. He hears our cries, He hears our prayers. I know this may sound odd, but over the past few months in growing in my faith, I feel like I have had to learn how to pray. I have come to a place where I can feel God's presence and know He is listening to me. One thing I love to do is relate verses I have been meditating on, back to God in my prayers. For instance, when I am feeling frightened, I pray Psalm 17:8-9. When I feel overwhelmed, I often pray Psalm 61:1-4. If this isn't something you've tried in your prayer time, I encourage you to try it! It truly puts my mind at rest.

It is so important to remember that while we are committing all of our ways, worries, anxieties, etc. to God, we must also remember to thank Him. I love Philippians 4:6-7 because I feel like it covers everything..."in every situation...by prayer...with thanksgiving...present your requests to God." And His peace which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." And It is such a comfort knowing that God's mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Something I've read in the book I often quote, Just Enough Light, is a reminder that God hears our prayers to Him each time we pray them. Sometimes I know I feel like I have been praying the same prayer over and over. But as Stormie Omartian says, "There is no such thing as a same old prayer. Each prayer has new life to it and sets something in motion each time we pray it." God hears your prayers, so never stop praying and take comfort in knowing that we have such an awesome, loving God to exchange whispers with before facing the world.

Also, something I have started and greatly enjoy is a prayer journal. There is something about jotting down prayers. It truly makes me feel like I'm one on one with God. I like to jot down the specific things and people I'm praying for and then write out my prayers. It's also so amazing to be able to go back through the prayers you've written down and read over the ones that you can tell God is working on in your life. Writing out our prayers to God helps us to focus on Him and really just set some time apart to be in His presence.

"I love the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live."
~ Psalm 116:1-2 ~

What are some ways that you set your prayer time apart as a special time for you to be with God? Do share! :)

Elephant Dress

Dress: Brigitte Bailey // Shoes: Franco Sarto // Bag: Nordstrom (It's Reversible!) // Necklace: J.Crew // Watch: Kate Spade // Sunnies: Kate Spade

Here's a fun dress to brighten your Monday :) I have always been a fan of elephants and love a good elephant print. This dress caught my eye, and after ordering and wearing it, I love the fit as well. It's such a cute dress to wear now, transition with in the upcoming months, and wear with riding boots in the fall. It's all about the details. Also, this bag has quickly become one of my very favorites because it's reversible. I chose the navy/taupe and love it! It is an everything bag as I carry my things + Madeline's in it. I'm thinking about purchasing another color (especially since it's under $50).

Have a great Monday!

The beach this year was extra special because Madeline was able to visit all of my favorite places at NSB for the first time.

I chose the Joanna riding boots.

On The Go: What's In My Diaper Bag...

What's in the bag…

My Outfit: Shirt // Denim // Scarf // Sandals  // Watch // Bracelet
Madeline's Outfit: Outfit // Bow
Diaper Bag & Necessities: Bella Tunno Bag ℅ // Diapers // Wipe Case // Burp Cloth ℅ // Changing Pad // Bibs // Paci Holder // Outfit

I have been wanting to do a "What's in my diaper bag" post for quite some time now. I can't believe my little sweetheart is already three months old. It's great to ask advice from other mamas, but it's really all a learning process that you have to experience for yourself. You have to do what works for you. It seems like Madeline and I are on the go all the time, and I feel like I've "perfected" the items I need to take along. I am the queen of overpacking, so I always feel like I take too much, but all of these items I've found to be great to have when you're on the go with baby. Here are my must haves!

1. Diapers: I always take along 3-4 diapers. I love diapers from The Honest Company. I have been   using these since Madeline was born because the fun prints make me so happy and add some excitement to the diapering experience. But through using them, I have become so pleased with the diapers and also the customer service The Honest Company provides.

2. Wipes: I love wipes from The Honest Company or Pampers Sensitive wipes. This cute wipe case is probably my favorite thing in Madeline's diaper bag.

3. Travel Size: Travel size things are the best! I always take along some powder, a Dreft stain remover penhand sanitizer gel, and nipple cream (this travel size is what the hospital gave me, so I keep the small size in the diaper bag and have a larger size at home).

4. Pacifiers: I always take at least two pacifiers along. Madeline's favorites are the MAM newborn pacifiers. I also take along Binky Spritz for emergency cleanings.

5. Diaper Changing: I pack a portable changing pad and an extra blanket for changing diapers on the go.

6. Bibs: Sometimes I put a bib on Madeline for feedings, so having one for on the go is nice. I am beyond obsessed with these from Kate Spade! Yes, one has a peter pan collar and the other has a bow…can you say ADORABLE?!

7. On the go feedings: I always pack a pair of nursing pads, and I love having my Milk Snob at hand to use as a nursing cover! A burpie cloth is also a must have.

8. Outfit: Lastly, I always have an outfit change for Madeline in case of a spit up or blowout. Some days I even consider bringing two for Madeline and one for me haha.

If you're looking for a little advice on what to pack in your diaper bag, I hope this helps. But like I said, you have to do what works for you :)

What are some of your on the go must haves?

Delightfully Yours,
