Perseverance

Happy Friday, y'all! One of my recent memory verses was Hebrews 12:1-2. This verse has meant a lot to me. It's one of those verses that I feel you can take apart, sentence by sentence (like Philippians 4:6) and truly meditate on it…relate it to the events currently going on in your life. Verses like this one are the ones I find myself reciting throughout the day. It's such a great comfort knowing that we always have God's promises to lean on. 

Why has this verse meant a lot to me? Well, you know that great feeling you get after completing a task? One that you didn't think you could complete? Or maybe one that took forever to complete? The rewarding feeling of accomplishment that comes after is great! It's one thing to have a to-do on your to-do list (fun or tedious). It's another to have to face something you've been worrying about for a while. But that's life! As Heather Lindsey always reminds, each season has it's trials and rewards. I've taken this verse apart. I love what it says about "running with perseverance the race marked out for us," but what I love even more is knowing that we are to fix our eyes on Jesus...the "pioneer and perfecter of faith." As I was saying how verses, such as this one, are ones I love to recite throughout the day, I believe this is a way to fix our eyes on Jesus as we run this crazy race of life. As you go throughout your day, pray to Him, remind yourself of His promises, and fix your eyes on Jesus. Our days are in His hands, and if we walk closely with Him, we will see His light for the race marked out for us.

Boardwalk Brights

I'm back to one of my favorite spots in New Smyrna to take pictures.  I don't know why, but I love this boardwalk! When you stand at the highest point on it, the view is gorgeous, especially when you catch a sunset. I'm also loving how bright and fun this shirt it. It's so colorful, that the outfit pairings with it are endless.

I'm having so much fun at the beach. It has been different from any trip I have ever been on because beach time is minimal, but I love my time on the beach because it's with Madeline. She loves it too! The sound of the ocean has put her to sleep every time we have gone out. I take her out near the end of the day, and oh how I love sitting with her under the umbrella.

Happy Thursday, Y'all! I have always been a gingham kind of girl. One of my go-to outfits for the summer is a gingham button down paired with white shorts or a white skirt (I love the simplistic look). What really caught my eye was this (pink) gingham duffle bag from Barrington Gifts. This bag isn't just available in gingham but can be customized with just about any pattern and in pretty much every color. Could it be any cuter?! I'm also in love with the gingham iPhone case. Gingham, gingham, gingham…I can't get enough!

Beach Day

I'm so excited to be at the beach, and what's even more exciting about this beach trip is the fact that it's Madeline's first. Yesterday we ventured out to the beach for a little while. I was very nervous about taking Madeline out, because she's so little and too young for sunscreen, but we hid under a sun umbrella for the short time we were out. I was so happy to see how much she loved it! She fell asleep listening to the breeze and ocean sounds. I have an app on my phone of noises to help calm babies, and the ocean noise has always been her favorite. That definitely turned out to be accurate! I love my little beach baby, and I know these are times with her that I know I'll always cherish.

This cover-up was such a steal from Anthropologie! I love the delicate details, and it is so well made. This sun hat also makes me so happy with the pom poms. Oh how I love beach accessories. Also, if you know me, you know that I love playing with braided hairstyles during the summer. Believe it or not, this hairstyle actually isn't a braid (see the tutorial I followed here). I love the way it turned out, and the braided look it gives. It's such an easy hairstyle.

Happy Thursday! There's nothing I love more that going someplace to eat dinner where I can stroll Madeline around for a little while before or after. Whether it's at the mall in the outside pavilion, or at the River Walk, it's always a fun excuse to get some fresh air. It's a reason for us to get dressed up, too! I feel like so many days, we go for our morning walk and then end up staying in our walking clothes unless we have a reason to get showered and dressed. I love strolls with my baby.

Also, I just want to mention something about my ring you see in the last picture. I have had several questions regarding it, and no, it is not an engagement ring. It is my "Madeline Ring" as I like to call it.  It is a special pink ring that I wear in honor of my daughter that holds several promises I've made to her.  Just thought I'd share :) The last picture in this post absolutely melts my heart. I can't begin to describe the joy I get when I see those beautiful blue eyes looking at me. Madeline is my heart, my everything.

I have been obsessing over colorful summer bags recently (especially straw totes). Add pom poms and tassels and what could be anymore cuter! These totes would be ideal for the beach or really just to brighten up a summer outfit. I love clutches, but I haven't wanted to invest in any, because I like a nice size tote to carry my (and Madeline's) necessities in. I recently purchased one of these totes, but it was difficult choosing my favorite. Can you guess which one I chose? If you follow me on Instagram, I'll definitely be styling it soon :)
