Comfy Maxi Dress

Dress: Loft (40% off), Necklace: J.Crew, Loft (40% off), Bag: Kate Spade, Sandals: Jack Rogers

Maxi dresses have been such a life saver these last few weeks.  One, for comfort, and two, they're just an easy go-to…especially when you're feeling huge :)  I found this one at Ann Taylor Loft, and I absolutely love it!  I'm 5'3, so I purchased this one in a petite size, and the length is perfect.  I also found these cute maxis from Target.  They're a bit long, but with the help of my bump, the length is perfect.

My due date is coming up.  I can't believe how soon my little girl could be here.  It has been such an amazing journey, and I am so thankful that God has chosen me to be her Mommy.  She has already been such a blessing in my life.  I also want to say thank you for all the love, support, and kind comments I have received from so many on my blog and social media.  They truly have touched my heart.  So, thank you! :)

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Stripes & Chevron

Top: Athropologie (SO comfy and great for a pregnant belly), Cardigan: Anthropologie, Necklace: Loft, Earrings: Loft, Rings: Ann Taylor, Denim: Topshop Maternity, Bag: Kate Spade, Watch: Daniel Wellington, Scallops Bangle: Kate Spade

My bump has gotten very difficult to style.  Two reasons…one, so many days I don't feel like getting dressed up and two, there are just a few outfits that I like right now.  It has definitely become a challenge.  I have gotten to where I basically live in maxi dresses (I'll share a few of my favorites soon). They have been a life saver :)

I stopped by Anthro a few weeks ago and shopped the fresh cuts.  This t-shirt is so soft, comfy, and stretchy, making it perfect for being both pregnant and not pregnant (I also purchased it in lavender).  This fun chevron cardi is great for transitioning into spring as it's light weight with bright colors.  Although the warm weather seems like it's officially here, this is a great outfit for the surprise cooler days.  About two weeks ago, we had a rainy and chilly weekend, so I thoroughly enjoyed this outfit and with the help of my sister, I was able to snap these photos.  But thank goodness that the weather is getting warmer!  My swollen feet are down to fitting into one pair of flip flops haha.  Hurry up Baby Girl! :)

Have a great day!

Faith Over Fear

Image via Pinterest

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
~ Jeremiah 29:11 ~

Happy Monday! It's a new week and with plans to accomplish a whole bunch of things, right?  Speaking of, I just made out my weekly to-do list.  But I have to remind myself, who knows what could happen this week!  Will I actually get everything accomplished on my list?  What will happen if I get behind, and the next week starts off a mess, etc.  Not only has the Lord been working patience in my life, but I have also been constantly reminding myself to trust in Him.  From the little things on my to-do list, to the big things that I may fear, I am constantly reminding myself not to be anxious about anything (Philippians 4:6-7) and to trust in the Lord with all my heart (Proverbs 3:5-6).

My Aunt Linda quoted me something not too long ago that I love:

"Inch by inch, life's a cinch. Yard by yard, life's hard."

I mean, think about how true that is.  When we start to worry about the future, we make ourselves crazy!  Sometimes, I start thinking about what individuals I have conversations with in the future will say.  How will I answer back?  "Oh, I'll respond with this," I tell myself.  I also start to worry about the outcome of things.  When this happens, I quickly quote three verses (Lamentations 3:37-38, Proverbs 16:9 and Proverbs 19:21) that always remind me of who is in control, and I am not to worry, even though we try to plan out our lives with what we think/want to happen.

We must also remember that God wants us to trust Him just as much as He wants us to obey Him.  Something I read in one of my favorite books says, "God's plans and His ways of working out His plan are frequently beyond our ability to fathom and understand. We must trust when we don't understand." (Trusting God page 19).  I always find so much comfort in remembering that there is no detail of our lives that is too insignificant for God's attention and no circumstance is so big that He cannot control it.  So, it's easy to not only trust Him with the little things (like something I may hope to accomplish on my to-do list this week) but also trust Him with the outcomes of the big things in my life as well.  We can trust Him with not only the ultimate outcomes of our lives, but also the little things that will bring us to that outcome. This means that we must learn to trust Him one. circumstance. at. a. time.

So, I know this is so much easier said than done (I'm constantly reminding myself), but try not to worry about the little things or the big things!  Take everything inch by inch and not yard by yard!  Look to God for the light for the current step you're on, and trust Him for the light for the next step as well. He will show it to you! He won't give you anything you can't handle. As Stormie Ormartian says, "(God) never said life would be easy, He said He will be with us."  and remember that God makes everything beautiful in His own time (Ecclesiastes 3:11), so trust in Him for when that time will come :)

Have a great Monday!

Blush Pink

I'm obsessed with blush pink.  I've always been a pink girl…any shade of pink.  I've always loved pink.  Having a baby girl really makes you love it even more!  Her nursery colors are blush pink and gold, so I think decorating with blush pink then, for example, seeing a handbag the same color just makes me so happy because I think of her.  I loveee the lace dress in blush pink listed above.  These pink and gold notecards make me so happy as well.  In the process of writing this post, I was on Pinterest looking at blush pink and ended up spending way too much time looking at the blush pink pins.  I simply can't get enough!

Which colors are you loving right now for spring?

Life Lately...

Happy Thursday, Friends!  I hope y'all have had a great week so far.  I felt it was time for a little update!  All I can say is that I cannot believe how quickly April is approaching, and how quickly my little girl could be here.  Last week my Mama, Jaclyn, and I did a tour of the labor and delivery unit. And on the same day (after meeting up with my sister, Hannah, for lunch downtown), we went to my doctors appointment to see Baby Girl's last ultrasound (bittersweet).  I have finally made it to weekly check ups.  It's just crazy to think how fast everything is moving now.

I say everything is moving so fast, but I just feel slow.  I've gotten to the point where it takes me three times as long to do anything.  After I complete one task, I have to take a rest.  Baby Girl has gotten so big by now that she's constantly moving (it seems like), and every jab/kick has gotten to where it hurts, but I know I'll miss feeling her sweet bouncy movements once she comes.  My belly jumps with her every movement haha. I feel like she's just as anxious as I am.  For the past few weeks, my sciatic nerve started to be a pain and has made it to where it's difficult to walk.

(P.S. Isn't this the cutest hair bow?  I purchased it off Zulily, and immediately tried it out on her headband, once it arrived.)

This week, the weather drastically changed from last week.  It has been warm…like 85° warm.  This has been both good and bad.  I love that I was able to wear some breathable dresses and pair them with cardigans. And I especially loved that I could wear a pair of Jacks, but the only problem is that I have swelled up to more than I ever imagined I could.  My feet are huge, and I no longer have ankles haha. I put my Jacks on the other day, and after my doctors appointment and running a few errands, I had to prop my feet up to let the swelling go down, just so that I could take my Jacks off.  If I'm not sitting down with my feet up, I'm just a swollen mess.

I start to think about how annoying the swelling, sciatic nerve pain, and feeling so huge are, but I also remind myself of how blessed I am to be carrying this sweet miracle.  I am so thankful that the Lord has allowed me to be her Mother.  I've heard it said before, but I can truly agree now…being pregnant makes you realize just how grateful you are for your Mama.  Mine has been here for me every step of the way and is always ready to help me in any way she can. I don't know what I would do without her.  And as I'm feeling so anxious to meet my baby, I try to tell myself to just enjoy these last few weeks of my pregnancy and remind myself that the Lord tells us not to be anxious for anything (Philippians 4:6).  I know His timing is perfect, and she will come at the most perfect time.  Hopefully I won't pop before then hehe :)

Hope y'all have a great Thursday!  What has been on your agenda lately?

Shopbop Sale: Up to 25% off entire purchase with code BIGEVENT

Zulily Crib Shoes:

Happy Saturday, everyone!  I received emails for these sales and couldn't help but take a peek at the new arrivals (especially on Kate Spade) and thought I would share them on my blog before the sales end.  I am more than obsessed with all of the scalloped items on Kate Spade.  I can't remember the last time I bought something fun for myself, partly because I pretty much can't fit into anything right now (including most shoes because I'm so swollen), and also because I've been buying everything baby :)  With her arrival coming up soon, there have been so many last minute things I've been buying up that she needs before she comes.

But the new arrivals on Kate Spade are seriously too cute.  I just about died when I saw the scalloped tote and the scalloped bangle.  My favorite color right now is blush pink, so the Cedar Street tote is also a favorite of mine.  I'm also crazy about this swimsuit, especially in blush pink.  The Shopbop sale is also great, but you have to spend at least $250 to save anything.  I've been a long time fan of the Tory Burch small york tote.  I purchased this one at the end of last summer, and it has been a go-to bag ever since.  My cousin bought this bag yesterday off the Shopbop sale and purchased a pair of socks to go along with it to make her purchase $250, so she could save 15%.  Smart thinking, and that's why I decided to include the cute little set of enclosure cards above that are only 7.50 and are so cute and summery :)

Lastly, how adorable are these crib shoes!  I couldn't help but purchase the plaid pair for Baby Girl.  The little bows on the front and backs of the shoes just make me melt.  I have a weakness for baby shoes.  and I haven't forgotten about sharing some of the darling little shoes I have gotten for her.  I promise to very soon :)

Which of these items are you loving?  Don't they just make you so excited for spring?

A Verse A Day

A few months ago, I decided to challenge myself.  I was having daily devotions and had the question on my mind, "what more can I do?"  That question quickly grew into a hunger for more of God's Word, so I decided to challenge myself to memorize a verse a day.  What better way to grow closer to our Lord and be more like Him than to meditate on His Word daily.  Having a verse to devote to memory throughout the day truly does make a difference.

How do I choose which one to memorize?  I usually find one that I love highlighted in one of the books I'm reading, or I choose one from the passage of Scripture I'm reading that day.  I keep a journal of what I'm reading (this journal is starting to look pretty rough and falling apart with multi colored sticky tabs throughout it…it's a sight haha).  After I've taken notes on what I read that day, I write my memory verse down, highlight it, then mark it with a sticky tab.  For some reason, I memorize things better if I see them in my own writing.  I then take a photo of the verse in my journal on my phone and save it to an album I have titled "Verses."  That way, I can glance at it throughout the day.

Memorizing verses has been a constant reminder to me throughout the day that God is in control, the happenings of our days rest in His hands.  His word directs our paths (Psalm 119:105), and keeps us sure footed.  There are times throughout the day when I'm feeling stressed, and just quoting a verse makes it so much better and takes away that feeling of hopelessness.  God's Word will always shed a light on our situations.  Memorizing verses helps us learn a walk of faith so that we may trust Him for each next step to take.

Here are a few of my favorite verses:

I know I've stated this before, but I truly believe God gives us just enough light for the step we are on so that we will continue to trust Him for the next step that follows.  I can't tell you the perfect timing of the verses I've been memorizing and how choosing them on the day that I did couldn't have been a more perfect day.  God's timing is perfect.  Lastly, it is so easy to just read the Bible (simply as a Biblical story) and not relate it to our lives today.  There are many times when I get caught on a verse and say "how is this relevant to my life today?"  But it is!  Every time I get stuck on that question, I recite:

Romans 15:4
For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we for the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

So, choose a verse a day, commit it to memory, and see how it works on your life! :)
