Cutest iPhone Cases

Phone Cases (1 / 2 / 3) ℅

If you're like me, then you love to change out your iPhone case.  It's been more difficult finding iPhone 6+ cases.  But a huge thanks to Amy from Amy Ruth Designs for sending me these cuties. I love them and the darling prints on each of them.  Whales, anchors, pups…just a few of the things that I love.  Be sure to check out Amy's other adorable cases for all types of phones!

You can see some of my past posts on other fun items from Amy Ruth Designs here and here (looking back on this post makes me so excited for summer time!).

Hair Inspiration

Happy Friday, Y'all!  I love playing around with hairstyles, especially braids and updos.  This past week has been really rainy, so the easiest solution to my bad hair days was to pull it up.  This easy Dutch braid ending in a bun type thing is something I watched on Youtube (her hair tutorials are some of my favorites!).  It's so simple, and if you know how to Dutch braid, you'll probably get it on the first try.  I wear my hair up pretty much all summer long, and with baby girl being due in April, I'm already "stocking up" on my quick and easy hair ideas for this summer.

What's your favorite and easy go-to hairstyle?

Baby, Baby!

Here are some of my favorite baby items that I've purchased and received from sweet friends at my baby shower!  I've heard from other moms that these are some useful things to have for your baby, and a few of these are just ones I'm obsessing over.  I can't wait to use them.

  1. I am a little obsessed with diapers from The Honest Company.  One of my friends gave me a pack (the chevron) at my shower, and I immediately fell in love. They're the cutest, and I just had to purchase the strawberry ones as well.
  2. I am so excited over the baby wipe warmer!  I've heard this is a great item to have.  There won't be any cold wipes on her sweet baby bum :)
  3. I have had so much fun buying outfits for her.  It has become an obsession.  I love anything and everything pima cotton.  I'm in the process of deciding on the outfit she'll wear home.  I do know that it will be a pima cotton day gown.  I have also found so many adorable bubbles (the one pictured from Shrimp & Grits Kids) for her to wear this summer.  And this paci?  She may not even like pacifiers and she may only take one certain kind, but I couldn't resist this bow one from Etsy.
  4. Rest Assured Sleeper
  5. Her Aunt Jaclyn gave me this baby bath tub.  It was one of the first items that I picked out the very first time we went baby shopping.  I think it's absolutely adorable and has quite a few nifty features.
  6. If you're pregnant, have a baby, or even if you're not pregnant, the Boppy Pillow is amazing.  I have used it every day since I received it at my shower, and I know it will be so useful once she arrives.  I found the cutest metallic dot cover for it on Etsy.
  7. Buggy hooks are also a fun accessory I look forward to using on her stroller.
Also, if you aren't already a member, you must join Zulily!  Oh my goodness, her Aunt Hannah and I have been doing so much shopping on there.  They host some of the cutest sales (Here are two currently going on: Smocked or Not and Smocked Sailors).  You can also catch many sales on items that are currently in baby stores.  For instance, Honest Diapers were on Zulily last week.  The baby bath tub and rest assured sleeper that I have listed above are also currently on Zulily.  Here are a few more of my favorite items currently available.

Well, as you can tell, I've had too much fun shopping for baby items :)  Aren't they so adorable?

Here are a few of my recent ootds posted on Instagram.  I haven't been doing as many outfit posts, because I feel like I'm definitely going for comfort these days and wearing leggings and an oversized sweater or something like that.  The only day I know I'll get dressed up is Sunday for church or the days that I work.  I have had so much fun styling my bump :)

I can't believe how quickly April is approaching!  My baby girl will be here before I know it.  I have had the worst time trying to sleep…it seems almost impossible!  I have thoroughly enjoyed my Boppy pillow (thanks Megan!!) as it helps me get comfortable.  I found the cutest metallic gold polka dot cover for it on Etsy.  Also, it has been so funny to watch my cravings change.  I'm now craving two things: chicken salad and strawberry cream cheese on crackers (probably because it's pink haha).  I'm trying to walk everyday as well.  After a walk, I feel so much better.

What have y'all been up to lately!  I hope everyone's week is going well so far :)

Patience...

Photo found here

Happy Friday, Y'all! I've been patiently waiting for the weekend (pun intended) :)

I'm excited to share this post, and hopefully it will bring some inspiration to you.  If you missed my last two posts that touch on a current book I'm reading, you can find them here and here.  It's amazing to see what the Lord can do in your life when you submit your ways to him (Proverbs 3:5-6).  I have often thought of myself as being possibly the most impatient person ever.  I hate to wait…for anything!  Have you ever thought about something, not thought about it for awhile, and then have been reminded of it again to discover it's a work in progress?  Let me explain a little bit.  As I said, I'm so impatient.  I look back at how impatient I was months ago compared to now.  It wasn't until about two weeks ago (as I was reading chapter twelve of Just Enough Light) that I realized how much work the Lord has done in my life to help me grasp the importance of being patient.  I had not even thought about it until then.

I won't spoil the chapter just in case you're reading this book, but I love the way the author describes the importance of patience.  We must wait on the Lord's perfect timing, and that cannot happen without patience.  We need patience to make us complete, because patience is one of the attributes of God.  I have been praying and asking the Lord to continue to teach me patience, because it is my utmost desire to be like Him.  Thinking about this concept has made me look back on so many different situations in my life.  I reacted in anger and assumed what I was wanting to happen was never going to.  But my impatient heart and not considering the Lord's perfect timing are what was getting in my way.  If we wait for Him, we will see His perfect plan unfold.  I then began to memorize verses on patience, and I am so happy that I have chosen to because it is also through the Scriptures that we can learn patience (Romans 15:4).  It's so true that when we wait on the Lord, we don't have to feel like our lives aren't going anywhere…we're not just at a standstill, even though it may feel like it.  Through waiting on the Lord, we can know that something is always going on, and we just can't see it. We are anticipating what God will do next.  What a comfort that is!  It takes all the fear of "not knowing" away.

Here are a few of my favorite verses on patience:

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
~ Romans 12:12 ~

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him…
~ Psalm 37:7 ~

I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.
~ Psalm 40:1 ~

The list goes on…

So, through learning to be patient, the next step we cannot see isn't so scary because we can remind ourselves of who is in control.  If we walk step by step with God, all we have to do is count it all joy and be patient in Him (James 1:2-3).

I hope you've enjoyed this post and have a great Friday!

Valentine Baby Shower

A huge thank you to Hannah, Jaclyn, Mama and Becky for the beautiful Valentine baby shower.  I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life.  The entire event was absolutely perfect from the invitations to the food and decorations.  My family and friends made this a day I will always remember, and I look forward to telling my daughter about it one day.  I can't wait for her arrival! :)

Recent Decorating

Decor: Journals: T.J.Maxx & Marshalls, Clock: Kate Spade, Zebra: Kate Spade, Initials: Hobby Lobby (1 / 2 / 3), Urchin: Hobby Lobby, Phone: T.J.Maxx, Trinket Dish: Design Darling (similar)

I've been doing some decorating lately, and I have been obsessed with Restoration Hardware! I have been mostly shopping for things for the nursery, but I just had to purchase this display shelf for myself. I had been looking for something to hang above my couch and had considered a mirror, but when I saw this "shelf thing," I knew it would be perfect!  I'm a sucker for gold decorative accents.  Hobby Lobby and T.J.Maxx are always my go-to stores to find random accents. I'm so pleased with the way this turned out! Yes, the accents are subject to change and move around. But that's always my favorite part :)

What are some of your favorite ways to decorate with fun accents?

Just Enough Light

Happy Monday!  I started thinking, and I decided that maybe closer to the beginning of the week would be a better time to share my posts that will hopefully bring you some inspiration for starting a new week.  Mondays are not my best friend haha, and I know many of you feel the same.

Anyway, if you missed what I posted on last week, you can read it here.  I started talking about a book I'm enjoying titled, Just Enough Light for the Step I'm On.  It has helped me learn so many amazing things about God, His Word and knowing Him in a more personal way.

As I mentioned last week, the title of this book had me thinking.  When I first began reading it, all I could really think about was that it sounded good! As I started reading it and studying the Bible (especially the Scriptures that run parallel with each chapter), I understood what having just enough light for the step I was on really meant.  Here's my take on it.

Having just enough light for the step you're on is something you will find through having a relationship with God and God alone.  It is something only meditating on His Word will offer us.  I see it best as walking by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).   Life can bring about many challenging circumstances.  It's not where we are in life that matters, but who is with us and who we cling to, walking us through each step that does matter.  We must also trust God to show us each next step.  So often, I feel like I'm walking around with a blindfold over my eyes.  But if we reach up and grab the Lord's hand, ask Him to show us the next step to take, and most importantly, trust Him that the next step is where He wants to lead us, walking around with that blindfold on suddenly isn't as scary as it once seemed.  He doesn't want us to depend on the comfortable.  He wants us to depend on Him.

Just as the Israelites had to learn to trust God for the guidance for each next step, we must do the same (this is touched on in chapters 9 & 10 of Just Enough Light).  All we have to do is ask God to show us as He wants us to be dependent on Him for everything.  But we must do our part...read His Word, talk with Him, spend time with Him daily, and trust Him with every next step. This is how I've learned to trust God and call upon Him to give me just enough light for the step I'm on.

Call unto me, and I will answer thee,
and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Jeremiah 33:3

I hope this post has given you a little inspiration for your Monday :)
