New Semester, New Look!

Today is the first day of Spring 14 semester!  I'm excited because this semester, I'm officially accepted into the business school, beginning my Marketing classes (yay!).  I like to start off each semester with a clean slate…all my old notes and books filed away, fresh binders, and new binder designs!  Last semester, I shared my Lilly Pulitzer binder covers from Jessica Marie's blog.  I love them but am ready for a change, so I decided to visit the Jessica Marie Design blog once again.  I found out that she has an Etsy shop, and for just $7, you can download the most adorable polka dot monogrammed binder covers.  That's what I chose, and this is how they turned out.
I'm so pleased with the way they turned out.  The download comes with the front and back covers.  I simply printed out an extra back cover to create the polka dot spine for the binders.  Since mine are 1.5 inch binders, I measured the back cover at that width and cut a strip that size.  If you do this, make sure to cut it long ways!  I also added some grosgrain ribbon and a bow with a hot glue gun, because everything is better with bows!
I also want to share how I organize my binders.  Pocket folders are a life saver!  I have one in the front, and that is where I always keep the syllabus and any important handouts for the specific class.  Then I have paper for notes.  After that, I add in a divider.  This section is where I hole punch and keep the study guides I make for each test.  I also have these nifty envelope folders in the back of each binder.  This is where I keep each test or quiz I get back.
Yay for fresh beginnings and fresh binders!  If you're starting a new semester, best of luck to you.  Oh, and just in case you're interested, here is a link to my favorite study tips.  Wishing you a great start to a new week!

Stay Tuned!
