Scallops On Scallops

One of my very favorite things is a scalloped design.  This is my favorite pair of shorts out of all the pairs I have bought from this summer.  When I found this scalloped top, I was so excited with all of the endless ways I can style it.  It is perfect for now, perfect for transitioning into fall with darker color bottoms and it will be perfect to wear under sweaters and blazers over the next few months.  You can never have too many scallops!

Friday Finds!

This week has been one of the most stressful weeks I can can recall…school, no sleep, working, etc.  I guess this weekend couldn't be a better weekend for a holiday!  I am getting away with my Mama to do nothing but shop, eat some delicious meals, catch up on some emails and sleep (which I've barely done all week).

With a shopping state of mind, I have a huge list of things I want and things I need.  With September being just a few days away, I am looking forward to viewing some fun fall and transitional collections.  Just thinking about it makes me giddy.  Here are some Friday finds to further put me in the shopping mode.
Personalized Tray…I'd love this for my desk if I only had more room.
Tiny Michelle Tote (don't forget to check out the TB Labor Day sale!)
A great transitional dress from Madewell

The perfect Fall statement piece
Vintage, suede, scalloped…could this clutch be any more perfect!

What are your Labor Day plans?  I wish you a very restful, fabulous weekend.

Door To Door

My idea of the perfect cottage: A light brick or grey stone house with turquoise shutters, a picket fence around it, lots of greenery and flowers, and to top it off, a turquoise door.  I love seeing a door on a house that adds a bit of color, especially on a beach house or a cottage.  I feel like the door to a house should be bright and cheery not just to add some color, but to let your guests know that they are entering a happy house.

I find so many cute colored door ideas on Pinterest!

The store two doors down from The White Crane has a door that never fails to make me happy.  When I have to park in the lot a block down from work, I get to walk by the door.  It is actually a children's' clothing shop (pretty obvious, right?) but the door is nonetheless letting you know that you're entering a happy place.

One day, I will have my beach house or cute little cottage with a bright turquoise or pink door.  The end.

A Fresh Cut

After a summer of so much fun, baby finally got a haircut.  She absolutely hates going to her groomer, but Ms. Kittie is certainly fantastic with Jaycee.  I picked her up looking so nice and neat.  I can see her eyes without having to brush the hair away from them constantly, her paws aren't shaggy, and her coat is so even and silky.  Jaycee is ready to transition into the new season with her fresh cut.  Oh how I adore that sweet little face.  She's a diva for sure!

Tuesday Shoesday!

Fall will be here before we know it, and I can hardly wait! I have purchased more shoes than anything it seems like for the upcoming season. I find a pair of shoes (or two, maybe even three) that I absolutely adore on all of my favorite sites. Tuesday Shoesday is the most perfect day of the week to shoe shop.

If anything is ready for fall, I know my feet are!

Have you found the perfect pair of shoes that have you simply craving fall?

A Lilly Life - Part II

Every true Lilly girl knows that it is a goal in life to have as many Lilly Pulitzer things as possible.  Crafting with a Lilly state of mind is the best kind of crafting there is.  Last week, I featured Lilly binder covers on my blog.  This week, along with Jaclyn and Harita's help, we have a fun set of Lilly coasters.  How did we do this?  With our past year Lilly agendas, of course!  Jaclyn bought the plain white tiles, and we cut apart our agendas to create a whimsy collection.
My favorite part about this coaster is how Harita added her monogram.  Smart girl!
Just a happy reminder, it's four months until Christmas!

These were so fun to make!  All you need are some plain tiles (.16 each from Walmart), your old Lilly agenda, scissors, and lots of mod podge!  Be sure to cover the entire coaster with mod podge once you have covered your tile in the Lilly paper.

Lilly coasters are just a fun way to add a little more Lilly to your day.  There is nothing better than Lilly crafting with sweet friends!

What do you do with your past year Lilly agenda?  Stay Tuned!

Amanda Catherine Designs

I spend too much time on Etsy.  I am always finding a new shop that I just can't get enough of.  Amanda Catherine Designs is one of the most adorable Etsy shops I've ever seen.  Her prints are such a whimsy touch to your wall, and her pencils will add a little sparkle to your time spent in class.  Her items remind me of Kate Spade (not just because she has a Kate Spade print available).  The cute little sayings and the color schemes of her prints are everything Kate Spade is.  When I see Amanda's items, one thing comes to mind…"Live Colorfully."

Her pencils are always a good idea.

This shop puts a smile on my face and adds joy to my heart.  It just makes you…happy!  My new Amanda Catherine Design prints are the highlight of my desk area.

A Great Transition

Transition season is the absolute hardest time of the year to dress, and it is surely coming up soon.  Transitioning from summer to fall can be such an annoyance…you can't dress in summer colors, but it is still very hot outside.  I know what I am going to do to help me transition.  Cardigans are the answer.  I have several skirts that could be worn well into September.  The colors are darker, but they are still easy and breezy.  Just throw on a cute top with it and a colored cardigan, and you'll be good to go!  I love the Clare Cardigans .  It is simple and thin yet it is available in so many colors.

Add a perfect pop of color or a basic look to any outfit with the Clare cardigan.

How would you wear the Clare?
