Floppy Hat Day!

Yes, I have my hat and outfit all read to go for Carolina Cup, but it just didn't work out for me to go this year due to it being Easter weekend (insert *sigh* here).  So, to everyone who is going to Carolina Cup! Have fun and enjoy your day! :)

I guess my Lilly Pulitzer hat will just have to wait until the beach, but that's only one week away!

Easter Weekend!

Ahhh it's finally Friday!  I have been waiting for this weekend for a long time.  I absolutely love Easter.  I love going to church on Sunday morning, spending time with my family, and dressing up, of course!  I love the pastels, the treats, and I always look forward to my Easter Basket.

A Bit of Espadrille!

I am currently on the market for a cute, versatile espadrille in a basic color to wear with my fun skirts for spring.  One, I don't want to spend a lot of money on it, and Two, I don't want the heel to be awkwardly high.  I found the perfect espadrille on Zappos.  The Cecilia wedge by Ralph Lauren is perfect and exactly what I'm looking for.  A versatile shoe that is available in so many colors.

I plan on purchasing the beige and the navy/white stripe pair.  Such a darling shoe that will go with so much!

Do you have a favorite pair of Espadrilles?

Easter Basket Building

I absolutely love building an Easter Basket.  First of all, I have an obsession with finding cute Easter baskets.  My collection keeps growing, so since I'm basically stocked up on Easter baskets for life, deciding what to fill them with is the best part!  As much as I love chocolate, I'm not exactly the candy type.  Yes, I do throw in a few chocolate eggs here and there, but I love seeing my recipient's face when I hand over the basket and somewhere in the Easter grass is a fun surprise!  Without any further ado, let me share some nifty surprises to fill your preppy basket with this year.

  1. A cute basket! Make sure your basket is exciting, but don't spend too much on the basket itself.
  2.  It's a must to top your basket off with a bow, but how about using a hair bow instead!
  3. Now for a fun surprise! Jelly Beans are a great Easter candy, but I'd rather have a necklace that resembles jelly beans! This J.Crew statement necklace does just that! A pair of Lilly Pulitzer sunglasses would also be a perfect surprise since spring has sprung (despite the cold weather). Or nothing says Happy Easter like this vintage pearl bunny brooch!
  4. Now for the fun little surprises, a pair of Vineyard Vines Croakis, a Lilly Pulitzer Koozie, Hair Pins, a bunny ring holder, or some LUSH Bath Fizzies will surely put a smile on your recipient's face. And don't forget your pup! Surprise her with some doggie cookies, a necklace, a bunny chew toy, or a hair bow!
How are you building your Easter baskets this year?

Current Crush - The Cara Bow

I love going through my inbox each day to receive updates and see new items from my favorite stores.  As dangerous as this can be for my wallet, it is truly how I have come across some of my favorite items in my closet.  Nordstrom introduced me to the Cara Bow collection through email today.  Being a sucker for bows, I automatically fell in love with Cara.

What a fabulous stack you can create with the Cara bow!

I always get excited when finding another way to incorporate bows into my everyday look.

What do you think of Cara?

Essentials

Whenever I welcome in new items to my closet, I always find myself thinking about how much use I will be able to get out of this one item.  This is how I create my wardrobe and always have my "go to" pieces, as I like to call them.  Here are a few essentials that would be very well loved.

A brilliantly colored statement necklace can always be useful when adding that special touch to your outfits.  Fun bangles are a must!  I personally love the Kate Spade Bow Bangle and the Scalloped Bangle.  A pair of bow studs and a pair of monogrammed studs will definitely become "go to" pieces.  And for summer, a Kiel James Patrick rope bracelet will add that perfect summer touch!

What do you consider your "go to" pieced of jewelry?

It is now time to announce the winner of the Acrylic Monogram Necklace Giveaway with Keti Sorely Designs!  Congratulations to Megan R! Thank you so much to all who participated!  There will be more giveaways to come.

Scallop, So Perfect

One of my top loves, along with pointed toe shoes, bows, statement necklaces, and more, is a scalloped design.  This element is so in right now as so many of my favorite stores and designers have done a marvelous job incorporating the scalloped border.  Here are a few of my favorites!

Scallops are at the top of my list! How about your's?
