One Year Ago Today...

One year ago today, I adopted the sweetest little pup in the whole entire world!  I adore her in every single way.  She is my everything!  Although I've only had her for a year, it seems that I've had her for much longer.  She fit right in from the very first day and is such a little doll!

PLAID

During the winter season, I love seeing plaid prints incorporated into dresses, shirts, scarves, everything! There's just something about plaid that makes me excited for cold weather, and for the holidays to come!

Here are a few ways that I love wearing this fabulous cold-weather print!

1. The J.CREW Perfect Shirt in Plaid

I picked up this classic button-down shirt from J.CREW last year, and it was the perfect addition to my closet! I love pairing it with leggings and a vest or dressing up a bit with nice jeans and pearls. It works for SO many occasions!

2. Forever21 Plaid Skirt

Last Christmas, I looked everywhere for the perfect plaid skirt, but it wasn't until April that I found the just what I wanted! In Forever21, on the sale rack, I found a plaid skirt very similar to this one for $10.00! It was a steal, and I knew I had to have it! I haven't worn it just yet, but I'm excited to pair it with tights, riding boots and a pretty white sweater this Christmas!

3. Talbots Gala-Plaid Taffeta Dress

I was looking over the Talbots catalog just the other day, when I spotted this beauty! I think it would be the perfect dress to wear while hosting a Christmas Party or going out to a really nice dinner! It's so elegant and classic, my favorites!

4. Plaid Accessories!

I am so happy to be guest posting for Rachel while she is in the city that never sleeps. I can't wait to see her purchases from her trip! I'm sure they're to die for!

Today I'm talking about my "cold essential items!" These are items that I have deemed essentials in my closet for the cold weather months!

1. Fur Vests. Yes. 110%. (Faux) Fur vests can do no wrong. They add a little sass (or warmth) to every outfit! If you are looking for a fur vest, I found two great ones at my Dillard's store and one from Michael Kors (pictured).

2. Boots. Whether it is raining or snowing and you need to pull out the Hunter boots, or you're going more for a casual and put together look, boots will be your answer! I live in my boots from about October to March! Which is also my excuse to buy more!

3. Booties. There are a new found love of mine. At first I was unsure of this trend, but then I dove.....and fell hard. Booties are my newest obsession. They are warm, chic, and stylish! I may have to go on a bootie shopping ban..... seriously, you can't go wrong!

4. Infinity Scarves. I'm not sure why I am partial to infinity scarf, but I am!I think it's because it looks more put together and yet it's still cute. Regardless, I have quite a few- and they're necessities in my book.

5. Oversized Sweaters. Nothing screams fall to me more than a good oversized sweater. In the fall and winter I tend to dress for comfort (not for men or anyone else) so oversized sweaters are perfect for me!

6. Colored Cords. I loved when colored denim was on trend this summer and fall, but I think I am even more so in love with colored cords. I can look cute while still being warm....? Perfect in my book!

I'm a big fan of anything with ruffles, and recently I've had quite the obsession with ruffled collar blouses! The Vickers' Bow Collection

Ok, who else saw the new Kiel James Patric collection today?  The Vickers' Bow Collection seriously blew me away!  I was so excited to see these.  They are pure bliss.  I feel like it's so Blair Waldorf and the perfect preppy wrist statement.  Now, it'll be guys in their bow ties and girls in their wrist bow ties!
