Athletic Favorites + My New Class

Eight: Fitbit Alta

Happy Tuesday, Friends! Today's post is featuring some of my current favorites in the athletic wear department. If you've read some of my posts over the past few months or have listened to me ramble via Instagram stories, you may have heard that I had to take a wellness course for school over the summer. I put off my wellness courses, and here I am now, two semesters away from graduating, having to squeeze them in on top of the classes I'm taking for my program. Anyways, over the summer, I took a fitness course which alternated days of weight training and cardio. It put me in great routine of (attempting) to get on a steady workout schedule. My days in the gym aren't always promising as it is difficult to make it to the gym with Madeline. But, I have been able to make it to the walking track as this is something I can do while pushing her in a stroller. That, my friends, is where the activity I am starting today ties in and is why I decided to post about a few of my current favorites. Next, I'm going to talk about some of these pieces for a bit. But at the end of the post, I'll share just why I'm featuring this post today

I decided to share these pieces above since several are ones I have been loving! First off, you simply cannot beat Zella leggings. I have been long-time fan of Zella athletic wear. It's by far my favorite brand of workout clothing. I purchased these leggings during the Anniversary Sale and am about to purchase them in grey as well. They're high waisted (i.e. they suck you in) and are the softest things ever.

Next, this scallop sports bra!!! Have you ever seen such a daring sports bra?! I just ordered it in the navy and cannot wait for it to arrive!

Another tried and true item featured above that motivates me on the daily is my Fitbit Alta. I absolutely love this thing. Investing in a Fitbit is really what got me going and active after I had Madeline.

I also can't do without my S'well bottle. I have two and use them all the time. They keep cold drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot drinks hot for up to 12 hours.

And the last item from above that I want to mention are these sneakers. They arrived yesterday, and I'm already in love. I have been trying to purchase them for weeks! Each time my size would come back in stock, they'd sell out before I could hit "purchase". Well, the other day, I saw where another one of my favorite stores got them in! I purchased them right away. They're the most comfortable things ever and the shade of pink is sooo pretty. They're still available in lots of sizes here. I did go down half a size as they run large.

Alright now for a little about why I am sharing this post today. Well, today I start my second (and last) wellness course that I have to take. At the gym where Madeline and I walk, nine out of ten times we walk at the same time the game of pickleball is going on. Have y'all every heard of pickleball?? From the first time I watched it while walking, I thought it looked like so much fun. It's a combination of table tennis, tennis and badminton. Madeline and I have watched it at the gym where we walk so many times that Madeline can now point out the game in a heartbeat.

When I was signing up for my wellness courses, I saw that pickleball was an option. Of course, I've never played the game. I really know nothing about it other than the fact that it looks like tons of fun. But it kind of holds a special place in my heart? I know that sounds strange, but it's a game I've been watching for as long as I've been walking with Madeline at the gym go to...ever since she was teeny tiny. It always makes me think of our time together walking. So just in case you haven't guessed it by now, yes, I'm taking pickleball for my second wellness course haha. I sat on the wait list for this class for months, and when I saw that I had gotten in, you better believe I did a happy dance! The first class is today, and I'm pretty excited :) That's why I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite athletic pieces that I will be wearing to class this semester.

Have you ever heard of pickleball? Have you ever played the game? I'd love to know! I've heard that its super fun and the most difficult part is keeping score.

Happy Monday, Y'all! Even though it is still summer and most definitely feels like it outside, I can't help but long for fall. Crisp cool weather, cozy sweaters, visiting the pumpkin patch, the novelty of being able to go and get a PSL from Starbucks (even though I don't order that since I'm not a huge pumpkin fan lol)...y'all know what I mean. There's nothing quite like the fall, and by the time hot and muggy August rolls around, I'm so ready for it!

If I chose to wear a cozy sweater right now, I'd probably walk outside and melt haha. That's why I love to buy and wear pieces that I can wear now and into the beginning of the fall. This dress is just that! It's OTS and lightweight, making it perfect for now. But the color palette just screams fall! Moss green with a bold floral print? Yes, please! It's absolutely stunning and under $50. It also runs TTS, if anything a little on the smaller side. This dress also pairs perfectly with a pair of taller boots which will be perfect for the fall.

I hope y'all have a great start to your new week? Are you in the path of the solar eclipse? It's not 100% totality here but pretty close to it! I'm so eager to see what it's going to be like. My Mama taught Madeline all about it, so Madeline has been talking about the "clipse" for over a week now. They even made eclipse cookies in honor of today haha (shortbread cookies with half the cookie dipped in chocolate).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Friday Favorites

Friday Favorites - Click through to see more on Something Delightful Blog!
one // two // three // four // five // six // seven

Happy Friday, Y'all! It seems like forever since I have done a "Friday Favorites" post. This used to be a weekly thing on my blog. I want to start getting back into sharing some of the current things I'm loving with y'all more often. From recent purchases to items I'm loving for Madeline, it's a great way to share them with you guys. Well let's jump right into it, shall we?

I have been on the hunt for the perfect initial necklace for forever! I have a thing for dainty necklaces, and my love for them continues to grow. What I love most about them is when they represent Madeline in some way. I have a delicate bar necklace I wear all the time that says "mama" on it. My hunt for the perfect "M" for Madeline necklace ended when I came across this particular one. I knew that I wanted mine to be solid gold, and I felt this one was a great price for that. It came the other day, and I pretty much haven't taken it off ever since. I'm absolutely in love with it as it's everything I ever wanted in an initial necklace.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen where I talked about this book on my IG stories. Some of our dear friends gave it to Madeline for her bday this year. It has been an absolute favorite of ours ever since! Madeline loves it so much, and we read it so often that she knows the whole thing by heart. If your child is obsessed with bandaids lol, you need to get this book! The first page includes several plastic-type reusable bandaids. The book tells the story of several different animals who get a boo-boo. The story says to "clean it, kiss it and put a bandage on it." And thats where your child sticks the bandage to whatever boo-boo the character has (there's a specific bandaid for each character...the dog, the sheep, etc.). It really is the cutest thing! :)

Next up on my list is a new fragrance that I have been loving. I am so picky when it comes to fragrances. So many I have used in the past will give me a headache. I also prefer a more light, sweet scent over a floral scent. This one by YSL is amazing! I discovered it at Ulta a ways back and took home a sample to try. Well I loved it so much, and after receiving a 20% off coupon to Ulta via email, I went back to get it. If you're picky about your fragrances and love a lighter, sweet smell, then I'd give this one a try. It really does smell soooo good.

I finally decided to invest in a good umbrella stroller a few months ago. I love our Uppababy Vista, but sometimes it's just too large for certain outings. I absolutely love the G-LUXE umbrella stroller. It's a smooth ride and folds up very easily. I also love how you can fold it up and literally fling it on your back if needed (it's super lightweight). I couldn't recommend it enough!

Something else I'm quite picky about is my highlighter. I don't want one that is too shiny, but I also don't want something that does't have enough of a glow to it. I have tried several different ones (four over the past year, to be exact), and this one is definitely my favorite! It also has amazing reviews. It gives a gorgeous, radiant glow that is just enough, in my opinion. I have it in "moonstone." When I purchased it, I heard that it was the top selling highlighter at Ulta! I highly recommend!

Alright I'm about to circle back around to an Anniversary Sale purchase. But I simply can't stop raving about this throw. It has become mine (and Madeline's) favorite. It's so incredibly soft, and we love to cuddle up with it. It comes in a handful of colors. Even at regular price, it's still under $40.

Although number seven on the list is more of a category (however, I do own this particular one), they have been a recent obsession of mine: sweatshirt dresses! There's nothing quite as comfortable and easy as a sweatshirt dress. The great thing is that there are currently so many cute ones out there for both mamas and littles! They look so cute with a pair of sneakers. I like to throw mine on especially on days after I've been working out, running around town and never got the opportunity to get a shower haha. I also just ordered this one and can't wait for it to arrive. I'm also loving this one and this one for Madeline.

Well that's about it for today! If y'all enjoyed this post, be sure to let me know. That way I'll know to do more in the future :)

Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Hello, hello and happy Thursday! I hope y'alls day is off to a great start. Remember this post from last week? Well, I mentioned that there would be another styling of the same top (in a different color) on here soon. Without further adieu, here it is! I could go on and on about how this is my all-time favorite t-shirt. I mean, ruffle eyelet sleeves?! Can you blame me? :) It simply does not get any cuter than that. This is actually the third styling of this top on my blog. I first styled it with denim here a few months ago. I loved it so much that I also purchased it in red and paired it with my jean skirt (see the post here). And now I'm back again styling it with my new favorite skirt! This skirt is such an amazing piece! The color makes it ideal for transitioning into the fall. It's perfect for wearing now while it's sitll hot out. And it also looks so cute styled a few other ways when it gets cooler outside. It's great to have a trusty brown skirt, if you ask me. This one is so cute and is only $60. These two pieces paired together may just be one of my all-time favorite looks.

Are you a sucker for cute t-shirts like I am? What's your go-to look for transitioning into fall?

I hope y'all have an amazing Thursday!

Hello Friends and happy Wednesday! Todays look is a perfect one to help you transition into the fall. To me, the transition months can be the most difficult ones to decide what to wear...it's still super hot and all you want is fall + cooler crips temps to arrive. This dress is the perfect piece for transitioning and allows for so many styling options! I love it paired with brown accessories. This belt was an investment, but I have already worn it too many times to count over the past few weeks since it arrived. It's reversible which is another reason why I love it so much. These suede booties are also amazing and ones that I know I'll be loving all fall long. Back to this dress, it also looks so cute layered with a puffer vest or military vest. And for only $35, it's too cute to pass up. It's also the softest cotton ever.

I hope y'all are having a great week so far! I begin my fall semester of school today. Six classes makes this mama a bit nervous. But I'm ready to jump in, feeling determined and that much closer to graduation :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope y'all had a fantastic weekend! I'm jumping into this week trying to keep a motivated mindset. I begin classes on Wednesday and am nervous to say the least. I'm taking six classes this semester. It's definitely the heaviest load of my entire program, but I'm reminding myself that with proper planning and the Lord's help, I'll be able to jump right in and do well. It also helps knowing that I'll be graduating (finally!!!) next spring. So after this semester, there will only be one more left to go. However, I think I'm getting anxiety from looking at the calendar and seeing these classes begin on Wednesday and go all the way until December. It's that feeling of knowing that you're in for the long haul haha. Anyways, I'm forever grateful that I'm able to do five of these six classes from home so that I can be with Madeline and continue to run my blog as well. I'm just so very thankful for that.

Whew that was a lot of rambling! Sorry about that :) Anyways, today I wanted to share my love (once again) for a good ole navy dress. I think I have more navy dresses in my closet than black ones. I've always said that it's just as important to have a LND (little navy dress) in your closet as it is to have a black one. I may be biased since I wear so much navy, but it's a color I love wearing all year round.

This particular dress is perfect for work, church and so much more! What makes it so stunning is the floral appliqué detailing. I think this is such a unique yet gorgeous touch. It's under $100 regular price. But a word to the wise: I never purchase anything from this retitler for full price as they run sales very often! So if you love and want this dress, add it to your bag and wait for the weekend to roll around for (hopefully) another sale :)

As for sizing, it does run large in my opinion. I always purchase the petite sizes in this brand. I went with a 0 petite in this dress, for reference. The petite length is always better on me as I'm 5'2. If you had sizing questions, I hope that helps some!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope y'all have a great start to your new week :)

Dress (Back in stock!!! Under $40) // Leopard Scarf (Under $20) // Booties // MCM Mila Bag // Tory Burch Wrap Watch // Gold Bangle // David Yurman Bracelet // Lip Color

Happy Thursday! I originally had another post planned for today. But after rambling on my Instagram Stories yesterday evening (per usual lol), I ended up chatting about this t-shirt dress I wore yesterday. I purchased this cutie during the Anniversary Sale. We shot this look shortly after I purchased it, but the dress sold out lightning fast! Well, yesterday I found out that it is back in stock in all three colors and all sizes!!! Therefore, this post was then voted in for today.

Allow me to brag on this dress for a bit. I know y'all are probably thinking, "Rachel, it's not even on sale anymore...what's the point in sharing?!" Well, even not on sale, it's only $39, making it completely, totally, absolutely worth it!!! It's the softest material. I wore it yesterday and come 11:00 last night, I forgot that I had yet to put on my PJs. It's that soft! The ruffle detail on the sleeve adds the cutest touch! I also have it in the moss green color. It comes in grey as well!

It's so versatile and perfect to transition into fall with. I love the way it looks with booties. It also perfectly pairs with taller boots. Yesterday, I wore it with Hunter boots for a super rainy day and threw Tory Burch Miller sandals on with it once the rain stopped. It's such an easy piece to style.

This leopard scarf is also a perfect transition accessory as it is lightweight. And it will be well-loved during the fall and winter months as well. It's only $19 and adds the perfect pop of leopard.

Alright, well that's about it for today's look! I hope y'all love it as much as I do :) I'd also love to hear from y'all about what you would like to see on here through August and September. Those two months are probably the two most difficult months to dress. The weather is still so hot (especially in Georgia), but your heart just wants fall haha. Would y'all like to see transitional looks? Fall outfit? Or I could discuss some other topics related to motherhood, school, life in general. I'm open to any ideas. Let me know by commenting below this post, sending me a DM on Instagram or shooting me an email. Thanks so much, y'all!

Have an amazing day!
